How many kids participate in each book club session?

Eight (minimum) - Twelve (maximum)

Where are you located?

We currently serve the San Francisco Bay Area in California.

What is involved in starting a book club?

Contact us! You gather the group (or we'll work together on this), we'll come up with a day and time and invite families to register. We'll manage the location, logistics, and communication. We'll also provide the books and facilitate the magic. Find more info here.

When do the sessions occur?

Weekday evenings once a month.

How frequent are the sessions? How long do they last?

Once a month for 7-8 months, avoiding most holidays and school closures. For grades 1-3, discussions are 45 minutes. For grades 4-8, discussions are 1 hour.

Where do the sessions take place?

Families alternate hosting for each session.

How do you choose your books for the book club?

RESEARCH! We put a great deal of thought into selecting the books. We select books from a diverse array of authors, characters, and subjects, as well as from numerous different sources, including lists of award winners (from classics to contemporaries). We also regularly consult with local bookstores and schools. We bring the physical books to each meeting for the kids to read over the following month.

Do the parents also read the book?

Yes! For grades 1-4, we love hearing insights and opinions from the parents during discussions.

Can I switch to a different book club if I'm unable to attend my original time and date?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate requests to change book clubs after the start of the school year. If you are unable to attend a gathering, please notify us.

Can I join a book club group after the session has started?

If there's space in an existing book club, we will gladly let you register for the session and prorate the cost.

Is there a Zoom option available if I'm unable to attend the in-person book club?

We are currently unable to accommodate requests for a Zoom option.

Can I still attend the book club if I didn't finish the book?

Yes, please! We always recommend attending a book club, even if your child didn't finish the book.

I was invited to join a club, but I can't find it on the site.

Please check with your club leader. They will give you a link to your private club page.

Terms, Conditions, Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Your payment will reserve your spot.
  • We will issue you a refund if you send a written email request to info@onemorechapterclubs.com, two weeks prior to the start date of your book club. You will receive a full refund minus your merchant fees that are accrued by your credit card company and payment systems that processes all credit cards on our site.
  • A written email request to info@onemorechapterclubs.com that is received less than 2 weeks prior to the start date of your camp and before your camp begins. You can receive 1/2 of your refund of your tuition minus the merchant fees that are accrued.
  • No refunds or credit of any kind will be given after the session begins.
  • If we have to discontinue a book club due to low enrollment or for any other reason relating to a host family or the facilitator, a credit towards another session will be issued.
  • We are not able to offer make-up options at this time.
  • You or your child should not attend a book club if you have cold or flu symptoms. We will not issue you a credit or refund if you are not able to attend a book club because you or your child is sick. This policy is one of the cdc & SFPHD guidelines.

Photos and Documentation

On occasion, One More Chapter will post pictures on our website and social media pages. Please contact us if you do not wish for you or your child's face to be posted, or if you wish for us to remove a picture of you or your child. We will honor your request.

Medical Terms

[If a parent is not present with a child], I authorize One More Chapter to secure the services of emergency transportation, a physician, and/or hospital treatment in the event of an accident or illness. I will be responsible of the payment of all services and payment of such medical treatment. The consent of treatment is effective during any and all hours that my child is participating in One More Chapter discussions.

Release of Liability

I agree to release, waive, discharge, indemnify, save and hold harmless One More Chapter LLC, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur due to my or my child(ren)'s presence in a book club gathering, either during or outside assigned hours, whether cause by the negligence of One More Chapter or otherwise. I promise not to sue the entity or its owners, officers, agents, or employees. I accept there are potential risks and dangers inherently associated with gatherings of children. I accept full responsibility for any losses or damages to myself or my child(ren), however caused or alleged to be caused.

I understand that this waiver is intended to be as broad and as inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of California and agree that if any portion is held invalid, the remainder of the waiver will continue in full legal force and effect.
